Charlie Blevins

Charlie received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Recording Industry Management from Middle Tennessee State University.  With an extensive knowledge and experience in music recording, Charlie also specializes in many instruments; most notably the violin.  He has instructed students, both children and adults, in classical and contemporary violin.

His performance credits include: The MTSU Symphony Orchestra, The Chattanooga Youth Symphony, and was the Concert Master for the Chattanooga School For The Arts and Sciences.

For his young students, Charlie prefers the Suzuki Method for Violin instructional materials.  For adults, he uses the American Fiddle Method.

 
Patrick Clark

World Music Instructor: Patrick ClarkPatrick received his Bachelors of Arts degree from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff.  He has many years of instruction in both private and group lessons and specializes in the following instruments: violin (classical & fiddle), viola, and cello.  Patrick has an extensive resume and has performed with many big names in the country music industry: Big and Rich, Crystal Gayle, Brenda Lee, Pam Tillis, Roy Clark and many others.  He has performed on television with Big and Rich on Dancing With The Stars, The Academy of Country Music Awards, and The Today Show. Patrick has also received many honors and awards for his performance abilities.

Patrick has had many years of teaching experience and is a member of the American String Teachers Association.

 
Karen Hogg
World Music Instructor: Karen HoggA Berklee College of Music graduate, Karen brings a wealth of experience in musical instruction. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Professional Music in 1995 and is a prolific performer and author. Karen has written many articles for Acoustic Guitar magazine and the Fretboard Journal. Her teaching experience includes: teaching both private and group lessons at the National Guitar Workshop, The Lesson Studio in Boulder, Colorado and the International Studio of Music in New York City.

Her musical instruction experience also includes writing method books published by Alfred Publishing which include: Guitar Made Easy & Women in Rock.

 
Joel Rivers

World Music Instructor: Joel RiversFor over 30 years, Joel Rivers has taught both guitar and banjo.  An author of four instructional method books for banjo, Joel brings a wealth of experience to the World Music Nashville Education Center.  For enjoyment, Joel likes to take songs from other genres and create bluegrass adaptations from them.  He finds a lot of fun in that process and feels that it enhances the creative process.

Along with being an prolific instructor, Joel is an active performer as well.  His specialty is bluegrass banjo but has been known to perform rhythm guitar in the bluegrass, country and pop scenes.
